These stunning O. J. Child's Company vintage copper fire extinguishers have been repurposed into unique and eye-catching lamps by none other than Underwriter's Laboratory, the famous lamp maker's of many mid-century modern works. Featuring embossed brass plates and rare old-school rivet work, these lamps are sure to make a statement in any room. Carefully crafted in the 1900s through a lengthy process of cleaning, polishing, and lampmaking, these lamps are beautiful antique pieces for everyone can enjoy!

 

This set includes two lamps, but no shades. Each lamp measures 33'' T to the top of the harp, 25.5'' to the top of the light socket, 7'' diameter, and 8.5'' at the widest point where the handle protrudes.

 

Inscribed:

"Hand Chemical Extinguisher, Tested under Supervision of Underwriter's Laboratory" No. 209677 & No. 209604 (respectively)."

 

"Child's, O.J. Childs Co. Sole MFRS., Utica, N.Y. To Play on Fire Turn Upside Down"

 

"Directions for Charging, Use 1. 1-2 lbs. Bi-carbonate of Soda Dissolved in 2 1-2 Gal- lons Cold Water (Filling Mark On Outside) Use 4 Fluid Ounces Sulfuric Acid In 8 Ounces Bottle. Place Bottle Stopple and Top in Position. Fasten Top Securely. Discharge and Recharge At Least Once A Year. Clean Thoroughly Be-Fore Recharging. Keep Re-Cord Date On Card Attached. Protect From Frost."
